Breeders of Bombay, Asian and Burmese
My name is Karen Mac Kenzie and I live in Dorset with my husband Mark
and our feline family.
My enthusiasm for Burmese cats began at the age of 7 when my mother began
breeding from her then queen a beautiful Chocolate Burmese called Shamari
Marchelle Lindylou. The first litter meant that two brown boys remained in
the family and loved becoming part of mine and my younger sisters’ lives,
even putting up with being pushed around the garden in a dolls pram! As
anyone familiar with Burmese will know this is nothing unusual. Shelly, as
she became known, was to leave us prematurely due to illness and as the
number of my siblings seemed to grow at an alarming rate the breeding of
Burmese cats had to go on hold. The addition of a lilac girl caused many a
fight between the siblings as to who actually owned her as she was such a
beautiful colour. As we grew older the love of the cats remained and when
our brown boy died we rescued a cream boy being sold in a local pet shop;
within a year the whole family had relocated to Dorset.
In November 2004 I married Mark and we set up home in Verwood.
Meanwhile my mum had returned to breeding Burmese and in 2006 had two
litters.
The kittens were wonderful and I decided to continue the family tradition,
so early this year we collected our first two queens and with the help and
encouragement of my sister who now breeds Asians I am looking forward to
breeding my own line of Burmese.
