- All our kittens are born in our bedroom where they remain
until they begin to venture out of the kittening box. They are then transferred to our
kitten room and a kitten pen added to keep them safe. After their first vaccination they
are introduced to the rest of the family and come downstairs. They are handled frequently,
this helps to make our kittens friendly and they grow up happy and confident.
A prearranged visit when the kittens are able to cope with visitors is encouraged. Once a
visit is arranged, I would ask that you keep the number of visitors to a minimum, no more
than 2 people with the kittens at any one time. My overriding concern when I have visitors
is the safety and comfort of my cats, and I ask visitors to respect this.
Please do not see another litter on the day you are due to visit, as visits between
kittens that have not been inoculated could spread infection. Make sure that all visitors
have not been in contact with any infectious diseases including Cat Flu, Ringworm and
fleas. If in any doubt, please ring me first.
I will keep prospective owners informed of their kittens progress and will arrange the
inoculations for Cat Flu and Enteritis at nine and twelve weeks plus the routine worming.
Kittens will only be able to go to their new homes on the week that they are 13 weeks old,
as per the guidelines from the Governing Council of Cat Fancy (GCCF).
Six week insurance with Petplan will also be included as will the Pedigree and
Registration Papers. Each kitten has its own kitten pack of goodies, care sheets and
feeding guide.
Often there is a lot of interest in a litter of kittens, with more people expressing an
interest than the number of kittens available. I will invite people to visit in the order
that they contacted me. Once a visit has been made, then a kitten or kittens are only
secured through a deposit. Due to the high demand for kittens combined with a few
frustrating timewasters, anyone wishing to reserve a kitten from a litter will be asked to
place a £50 deposit which is non-refundable but deducted from the final payment for the
kitten.
Once the deposit has been accepted, the kitten must be collected in the week when the
kitten is 13 weeks old. Any delay must be agreed between both parties before the kitten is
9 weeks. If the kitten is to be collected after the kitten is 13 weeks, it must be with
prior consent by me and a further charge may be made.
I do apologise if all this may sound a little formal, however, at the end of the day, the
cat's welfare is paramount and I just ask people to remember and respect that.
If you would like to be considered as a prospective owner of a kitten(s) then please feel
free to contact me by email through the link from this site or Telephone 01249 650333. I
would like to know your name, address, e-mail and telephone contact details etc. Please
also let me know if you have other cats and if they go outside, what methods have been
made to ensure their safety.
